Given what we know of the big picture view of trust of health care broadly and these uncertain times, how is this playing out on the ground?

Panelist: Brenda Frost, Sr. Business Manager of Issues Management, Premera Blue Cross

Brenda has worked in various roles at Premera Blue Cross since 2010, including organizational consultant, sales training and communications, provider communications, broker and employer communications, and most recently as senior manager of issues management. Jessica Porter, MA (she/her/yaka) is an enrolled member of the Chinook Indian Nation, a storyteller, songwriter, and stealthy narrative change agent. She is deeply attuned to the transformative power that emerges when communities own their own stories and envision new stories about the futures they want to create together. With over 25 years of experience working with and for Tribes, Jessica currently serves as Tribal Partnerships Manager at CHOICE, a regional health organization, where she nurtures cross-cultural communication and collaboration in support of Tribal health priorities. Panelist: Kaley Sweet, Sr. Communications Dir., Lower Umpqua Hospital

Kaley leads the development and implementation of marketing, advertising, and community outreach initiatives at the Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport, Oregon. Her work includes promoting new and existing providers and the broad range of services offered by the hosital and affiliated medical clinics. Rosa has more than a decade of experience in strategic communications and stakeholder engagement. She currently serves as a communications manager for Providence Health Plan. Prior to this role, she supported communications efforts at Providence Swedish, University of Washington, and Sankofa Impact. Kristin leads the marketing team at Valley Medical Center in Renton, Wash., overseeing the organization’s internal and external communications channels, from email and newsletters to website and social media. Before coming to Valley in 2021, Kristin was a communications manager at an academic medical center in St. Louis, Mo., following a career in local broadcast news that spanned 12 years and five cities. What are the elements of story that have proved successful, what are the best ways to deploy those? Diana focuses on delivering social marketing and health communications programs that are strengths-based and trauma-informed for effective behavior change. Diana is committed to using an equity lens in planning and communicating around social determinants of health.
